Well after much thought I’ve finally made a decision to change the focus of my photography studio. As many of you know I have been known as primarily a wedding photographer with some portrait work. Now that I have a young family with two kids I’m finding it already very difficult to get time and hours in to work. Weddings are very time consuming for me as it means long days away from my family when often it’s the only time the four of us can spend time together and during the week finding the time around naps, feedings, cleaning is challenging as well when I need to work on editing and design work. Since having babies I’ve really grown to adore and love photographing newborns and children. So….the new focus for Rachel J Photography is…drum roll…Maternity, Newborns, Children, Families and Couples. I will still continue to shoot a very limited number of weddings each year (approximately 5 per year) and want to begin working on personal projects as well to keep me inspired and growing in my work. While my kids are young I want to spend time with them as they learn, have fun with them and teach them while pursuing my love of photography. I am a mother now and a wife and that means I have to balance my life much better than I have in the past. This has always been a challenge for me! So in the mean time I hope to update my website with new information and new packages and pricing as well as new images!! Can’t guarantee when this will happen as my priority right now are the kids and getting my weddings finished from 2010. :)
Thanks for your continued support and I look forward to many sessions this year.
